Bill Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar rematch set

Former WCW Champion Bill Goldberg is set to return to the WWE after almost 12 years being away from the big leagues as he faces the Beast incarnate Brock Lesnar in a rematch from their WrestleMania 20 Encounter in 2004.

With the former WCW Champion and Longest streak owning Bill Goldberg set to respond to the challenge laid out by Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman on WWE Raw this coming Monday.

Now why would Bill Goldberg want to do this at almost 49 years of age? For one it’s basically foreshadowing as being involved with the WWE 2K Series of video games often leads to some Legends of the sport’s entertainment industry being involved in some way as it appears the video game deal seems to smooth things over if there has been any animosity in the past between WWE and Legendary talent such as with the Ultimate Warrior for past games and with next year’s game rumored to involve the Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle in some form, in any case the former WCW Champ also wants this done so that his son could watch him wrestle for the first time.

This dream match many thought would not happen again especially in this day and age is most likely taking place at the WWE Survivor Series event on the WWE Network in November 2016. It certainly is intriguing where this storyline is heading and it appears things have been smoothed over between Bill Goldberg and the leader in Sports Entertainment, the WWE.

Brock Lesnar on Steroid Allegations and other topics ahead of his return to the UFC

At the UFC 200 Conference call today, Former UFC fighter and current WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar spoke out about the alleged steroid abuse as far as his opponent at UFC 200 Mark Hunt is concerned. Brock Lesnar had this to say:

“I’ve been dealing with that my whole life. I’m a white boy and I’m jacked. Deal with it.”

Brock Lesnar also shared his thoughts about the recent interview where Stephanie McMahon said that the WWE was not necessarily behind him to which he commented below:

“I don’t know, I don’t care what she says. Everybody is 100 percent behind this and supporting this. I’m happy and that’s all that matters.”

Whether or not a loss would affect his drawing power in the WWE and the notion that he was taking this fight for himself to which he remarked:

“I really don’t give a s–t.This isn’t about my fans. This is about me living my life, being the person that I want to be. Granted, without the fans and everything, none of us would be able to do this. I get that. But I don’t sit up at night wondering is my drawing power gonna be hurt or are my WWE fans gonna tune in and watch me do this. I don’t give two sh*ts about that. This is about me. I want to get in there and be an athlete again. That’s what this is about.”

And finally whether or not the door is open to a bunch of future fight’s in the Octagon:

“I don’t know, I feel really good. Training camp is going great. I’m happy. I’m happy with my life. I’m happy with everything. Since I left the Octagon after I got beat by Overeem and kind of forced out of the cage because of my illness it haunted me for a long time. Well what do you do? Well, here I am. And before it’s too late, I want to get back in the cage and have fun with it.
I haven’t given it much thought. Nothing’s going to change, I’m just looking forward to stepping in the cage.”

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to fight Mark Hunt in UFC 200 which takes place on July 9th 2016 at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas and Brock Lesnar is rumored to make his return to WWE Television for the WWE Draft which takes place on  July 19th on the first edition of the newly announced Live Edition of WWE Smackdown going forward. So what could this mean for the Future of Brock Lesnar? While all parties involved are treating it like a one-time only thing, who knows? Once Brock Lesnar’s contract is up with the WWE he may want to scratch that competitive inch by entering the Octagon for a number of fights. It’s an exciting time to be a wrestling and MMA fan, and I for one think that the WWE will capitalize on this situation by shooting an angle at the UFC 200 event so that it leads to something special at WWE Summerslam in August, perhaps an invasion of sorts by some of the top UFC talent? One can dream and I think the WWE is crazy enough if even to give it a little bit of thought as the idea would be money.

Later that year, he became the youngest WWE World Heavyweight Champion in company history, at age 25, by defeating Dwayne “The Rock®” Johnson at SummerSlam®. Lesnar later won two additional WWE World Heavyweight Championships and had notable rivalries with WWE Superstars Undertaker®, John Cena® and Big Show®, among others. Lesnar’s first stint with WWE concluded at WrestleMania® 20 in 2004, where he was defeated by Bill Goldberg, the focus of WWE 2K17’s pre-order bonus content.
